Life?
Dread is undefinable.If you know what you're afraid of, if you can define it - it loses power.
It's the unknown that climbs up your back and attaches itself there, humming ominously like a dangerous electrical current. A robbery and its sense of violation can crank that up to a rattling volume. Guilt plays into your emotional receptors too. It heightens all your responses ; making you hypersensitive.
I had the fleeting sense that everything happens for a reason. I found the people that mean the most to me in the last couple of weeks. I realise how much I need them ; especially after everything that's happened. Now things are falling back into place. Coincidence? Or was it a karmic equalizer, God's way of balancing pain and pleasure ; grief and happiness?
I often ponder on what the purpose of life is.
But before I go into that, I want to know what YOU think.
'Purpose Driven Life' by Rick Warren.
It focuses on 5 purposes we're put on Earth.
Enlighten me and tell me what you think of this book.

Don't try to understand life.
You're only 15.
Dwelling on the purpose of life is something that should be done at 50.
Enjoy life while you can.
Your teenage years are the ones that matters most.
Just wait till you're 25 and working lol.
You read 'Purpose Driven Life'.
Not bad ah, wifey.
Study la. Don't think about these things.
The purpose of life is expression.
And as soon as anyone trys to limit your expression you should know you're denying your OWN expression.
Plain and simple; Just live and express freely.
You're only human. There's no way you can ever know it until you're with God. Pray hard and hope one day he'll answer it.
Not everyone put their beliefs in God though.
Just live life while you can.
I have a liking to this new anonymous poster. Indeed our belifs can sometimes overshadow our natural expression.
Have we lived for so long that we no longer offer answers to ourselves? But instead rely on some higher deity to finally fill us in?
A conversation is sparked,
my parents has the purpose driven life book, i for one have no read it though. i think it focuses on how to manage your sucess with god, most likely. then again im not sure.
The problem with that book is how often he quotes the bible out of context or only quots PARTS of verses.
Life really has no purpose, well atleast that I can figure out. As you said things do happen for a reason, people screw up, life changes, people change, maybe some don't but being able to get to live in this world is something you should take in. Besides getting to live it sometimes can suck but you should always make it the best moments.
Being apart of someone, and someones life is amazing. Hurting someone is not something you plan to do, it's something that happens not because you want it to happen but because maybe it was meant to happen even when it's not supposed too.
God made us all for a reason. The reason to feel the things we do, do the things we do, to love, to hate, to cry, to make us feel good about who we've become in the end, and to finally die when everything you accomplished is over even when you don't want it to be over.
So take everything you have in life and thank yourself for it, for the people you love to always be there for you even when sometimes they make you mad or upset because you never know when they won't be here anymore and the things you wish you wanted to say can't be said or things you did say you regret.
